Kapa Haka

After a year of practice, we were finally starting, we were finally performing.  "Kiamo!" Our Kaea called.  we obediently, simultaneously, put our hands on our hips. "Utaina Mai toru wha!"  called our Kaea, as we started singing.  "Utaina mai nga waka..."                                                                                                       The school hall filled with voices as Our syndicate carried out the performance.  Than, the Haka for that song started.  I don't even know the beginning to that.  the girls kept the song going though as the boys chanted the Haka.

"Kiraro." our Kaea called as we started another song.  "...Kia maria..."  went the song as we sung it to the guitar in the background. "Poi Kiamo!" came the command as we finished.  We had heard it many times before.  The girls started their poi, as the boys did the actions.  "Aue Rona E..." and the girls but away their poi.   Another one off the Kaeas  then called out the next song, as the original one called the commands.  "ARARA KA PANANA!" called the kaeas.  "IAHAHA, AUE!"  we called back obediently as the transition began.

The transition had by now ended, as it always did, The girls at the back, and boys in the front as always.  the boys Haka began as the girls sung the Kopu.  We watched as the boys finished, and followed our leaders back to the front.  as soon as the leaders set foot  on the line,  they started the next song.  "Hui E, Taiki E."  we started the actions as we swung around in time to the music.   We finished the way we started, Proud to represent our school, and walked out of the hall.

We all felt proud and glad, as we had been practicing forever.   Now, 2 weeks later, I feel happy that its done cause I don't have to practise any more.

Ilminster Green teams play

Today I will be telling you about a experience I had less than one hour ago.  It was the Ilminster green teams play which started roughly around 11 am on the 26th of November, 2021. The play was about... well, you'll see.

Nana Koura finished her story, with great inspiration in her voice.  Like she was hoping to inspire her grandchildren.  Instantly, they started begging for another story. "Just One more, Please Nana Koura?"        But she was very stubborn.  "No, go to bed now." she said softly, but firmly.  "Hey," Kina said, "you wanna hear how the kina got their spikes?"   "Yes!!" They cheered. "No," Nana koura said, becoming impatient. "Go to bed now."                                                                                                                                               The grandchildren walked of, mumbling under their breath, Then, "Fine one more story." Nana Koura said.  They screamed with delight and came running back to the rock-pool. ( Their crayfish.)  Nana koura asked them which story they wanted, and it was the time she stopped the aliens, Of course.  "Once, before  I moved to the marine reserve, I lived in the dark blue ocean.  People skated past daily, I got to know some of them.  Than one day 4 kids went to the skate park.  'Today I'm going to do the back Flip,' said one, ' you say that every day'  said another.  'I actually will do it today though!'  He retorted.  he got ready, putting his helmet on and, '3...', 'wait,' said the one from before, 'I have to get this on video,' she pulled out her phone and, 'nah' he said, ' I sprained my ankle  a few days back, I might not do it today.  Everyone sighed. 'Hey' you guys want some lollies?' said the one who had been retorted at. They all agreed and took one.  They threw the litter on the floor, in their little rubbish dump and left.  Then the aliens arrived.  The king of the morons  said, 'is this the perfect place for my dump?', 'yes.', said her aliens loyally.  'Get me my stool and lunchbox.' said king moron.  they gave it to her and started dishing out the plastic at the skatepark.'

When they were done king moron said, 'Throw out this used stool, lunch box, and robot.  The robot went and threw himself in the dump. the next day the kids came back.  'who did this,' said one.                              He reached out to touch it and got electrocuted.  'No-one. Touch. This.' he said partly.  someone read out the writing on all the things. It said 'single use only,'.  Then suddenly the robot jumped up.  'call your masters.' ordered a girl from the bunch, after the robot had done some explaining.   'I, Will, Copy.  Masters, will, not, be, happy.'  They arrived after a minute.  'Who called ME?' said King Moron, outraged.  Anyway, I have more rubbish to dump.  'Wait!' said somebody from the four children. 'you can't dump your stuff here, It's OUR skatepark!'   when the aliens refused and left the children agreed on going to find Nana Koura to help them with the job of persuading the aliens.  Nana Koura agreed, but only if they promised to pick up after themselves to.  They agreed as well.  'Robot,', called a girl from the group of children, 'Call the aliens again!'                                                                                                                                                               'I, Will, Copy.  Masters, will, not, be, happy.'  They arrived after a minute, again.  'What is it now?'  said King Moron, fiercely.   I walked up to them, and before I managed to say anything other than, 'I am Nana Koura,' they started bowing, chanting Queen Koura.  'Play along.'  murmured Kinna.  So I did .  I, Queen Koura, command you to take all your rubbish back to planet Moron.'                                                              'Yes your Royalness,' they chanted.  After they were done the children put all their litter into the bin.  Now, go to bed."  "Yes Nana Koura." the Children said, bouncing to bed.

Over all, I think It was a Really good play.                                                                                                        I can't wait to see if in two years I get to do it.

Thanks for reading

My Speech

I walked up onto the step stage as all the girls cheered for me.  I started laughing, I can't help it sometimes.  I stood there for a minute, staring at the 59 people in the audience, and the 3 judges. I got the thumbs up signal to start speaking-ish.  I listened to myself as my voice exploded over the room, though I still sounded like I was talking, not speeching.  I watched the effect as I said,

"
INTRO
‘When we put the whole picture together, recycling is the best thing to do.’  So why don't we? I’m
Charlotte, & I think we need to recycle... more. If WE could recycle, WE could save OUR environment, OUR
ocean, OUR animals, and most of all, OUR planet.  There are many reasons we should recycle and one of them,
the main one, is that  if we keep littering, our world will die.  There are many other reasons we should recycle, but, Sadly,  I can only tell you 3 of them today, as I don't have enough time to tell you ALL the rest.

OUR OCEAN
Our ocean is one of the most endangered things on our planet.  That is because when you litter by/in
streams and rivers, the litter gets washed out into the ocean, and +, the wind blows almost all OUR litter
into the ocean, if not in the opposite direction.

OUR OCEAN 2
For example, people dumpt 2 thirds of the plastic on earth into our ocean, daily. Well, Actually,
I'm pretty sure that's true. Did you know there are 49,000 pieces of plastic per square-mile, in
our ocean?  Soon enough, if we DON´T start recycling, we won't be able to go swimming in our ocean.
If we don't start recycling, we'll be swimming in our plastic, & that could be in just 20 years!
Nobody wants that, It would be REVOLTING!

OUR PLANTS & GARDENS
You might remember me saying, the plastic that doesn't get blown into the ocean goes in
the opposite direction?  Well, that's nearly worse.  Do you know what direction that is?
Correct, sadly. Our plants and gardens.

OUR PLANTS & GARDENS 2
If our plants get suffocated by plastic bags and bottles, we´ll have no oxygen.  As you probably know,
trees make our oxygen, & hold in our Carbon Dioxide, if all the trees die, we won't have a place to gather
more oxygen. Then, we'll have to breathe in carbon dioxide, but that's IMPOSSIBLE!!

OUR ANIMAL
Another reason for recycling is our Native Animals, & other animals in the world.  Wouldn't it be
sad if all the animals in our world died out? I would think, & say, so. Unfortunately...

OUR ANIMALS 2
Imagine If all the animals in our world died out, just because of littering, JUST BECAUSE YOU
ARE TO LAZY TO RECYCLE!!!!  That will happen eventually, in less YOU start recycling.  Imagine
how sad it would be without animals in our world, when you know there could be.  No animals =s
no pets, which =s no joy, especially when you Know there could be animals, pets, &  joy.

CONCLUSION
Altogether my point is, If we don't manage to start recycling soon, we may no longer have an earth
to live upon for Ourselves, & the next generations. We NEED to keep our earth alive so that we can
continue living.  Can you believe that ONLY 120 people voted against using plastic bags?!
That is terrible!  We need at least 120,000 to stop us & others using plastic bags!  When you think
about it, our Ocean, & our plants are on our earth, so if they all die, our animals, & us die Too!!
As Robert Swan once said, 'The greatest threat to our planet is the belief someone else will save it."

I hope you enjoyed my speech, no matter how long it was!!
