MANGAONE STATION STOP BY
Hi, as you might know already, last week, the day before we went into lockdown, me and my class went to Mangaone Station. It was an action day, and we had planned to do just gardening in the wetland. Even though it was a class trip because that's what this trip was for. Then this week my teachers made me relive it all through writing. This is my story of what happened at Mangaone station:
Sophie pulled up outside the shearing shed, all of us thinking we were to be the first there. We climbed out of the car, and to our great disappointment, found we were second there. With around 10 boys, we waited for the rest of our class. To my great disappointment, that car was all boys too. Us two girls waited for the rest of our group to get there, and just when I thought they'd never come, 7 cars pulled up handing us more girls. Still outnumbered, but thoroughly excited to get started, we waited. through our teachers talking. I listened a bit like this: ¨4 sharp whistles means there has been or is an emergence . . .
Then, my head wandered off with me. Before I knew it, we were starting. I didn't really listen. Or watch through Koka Rosies explanation on how to do it, but at least we were using sheep dags, not poo. (To be honest, at first I thought sheep dags were sheep poo.)
My team started with mulching the old plants. I wasn't very good at it at first. Then someone, (I forgot his name), Came and helped me, as did Koka pip. Koka pip understood as much as I did, but The other guy knew a lot, and made me and Koka pip understand a lot more too. Then I put the sheep dags, (that did actually have a lot of poo on them), around the teny flax bush. I continued doing that to every un-dagged plant I saw, until Koka Rosie called time. We tramped back through the muck up to the shearing shed for morning tea. It was quite fun, actually. After we ate we had 10 minutes of free time. In that time Josie decided to go to where the sheep go in the shearing shed. I followed. We got stuck, that was until I remembered my way out. The loose bit Of wood. I used it. Twice, But on my second turn, unluckily, someone turned on the tap. All the water came rushing down through the hole, and landed on top of me. Then on my 3rd go there, an adult came up. Afraid we were about to be told off we ran out into an feild, and climbed the fence back into the car park. No-one got told off, so it was sort of a waste of time.
We tramped back to the gardening scene and I started gardening. Unsure how to take the plants out of the pot without ripping it in half, I asked Cornelia and Ivy, Two of my , should be gardeners, friends. I squeezed both sides of the pot and then pulled by the base of the plant. POP! Out it came, and I placed it in the hole and filled it in. I did that until I got bored, which was after 3 plants, and then went to explore the wetlands. There was a little stream, with a fence dangling over top, so I climbed the fence, to the other side of the stream, and explored. After half an hour of that we went for lunch.
After lunch we went to see the lambs. We followed Cory, It's his farm, as we ran. Then, just before we got there, I slipped. I belly flopped into the mud. Yuck!! Just able to keep my face out, I hoped. I got there and started playing with the lambs. Half way through the lamb journey, I made a friend. It was a she, I could tell because she didn't have the funny holes for the horns, like the future ram. She let me pick her up, and cuddle her. Then cash, a boy in my class walked up to see if she really liked me. He touched her mouth. Usually when you do that lambs jerk, and jump out of your reach, but she snuggled into me and remained easy to hold. Just then Sophie came in, to feed the lambs. She ushered me and Ivy in to help her, but everyone else hopped into. After the lambs they had been holding finished feeding, we all picked up our special lamb again. By the end of the lamb adventure I had made a name for my lamb. It was Milkshake, because she looks like a vanilla milkshake. Then we had to leave, sadly. Not to mention, leave the lambs there! Nooo!! (I didn't actually say that.)
Me and Cornelia started talking about the lambs when we met up after the venture with the lambs. We started talking about which lamb was Our favorite, and what we would name our lambs if we actually had one. We ran down the slight hill and managed to get to the front of the pack. We ran up the massive hill we were told we were allowed up, and then ran to the next stretch of it. Sadly before we reached the top of the hill the adults got there and told us to come back. We did. Then we followed Nick, Cory's dad, to the fenced off forest. Before we got there me and Cornelia were at the front of the pack. But then we decided to climb the barbed wire fence so we could jump the stream. (There are A lot of streams there!) We ran until we reached the forest and then made our way into it. Nick was in there with 8 boys. When he saw me and Cornelia he hopped out, and told them to follow. Me, who was already quite far into the forest, was annoyed about this because I wanted to explore, I had just got there!!! I did not express this particular feeling, along with almost all of the rest of my feelings. I listened anyway, and then I slipped. I nearly fell into the water, but luckily caught myself before I was soping, I was utterly Dry! YAY!!! I thought in my head. We left, After an unfortunate Neko fell into the freezing water, pulling Olly in with him. I was a tiny bit funny. Anyhow, I eventually got back up the hill, then ran down it. It was so fun! I tramped through the mud and to the shearing shed, once more, and then, Whoosh! We zoomed back to school once more!
I hope you enjoyed my quickwrite, or maybe, DAY! Bye

Gymnastics festival
I can't Believe it! The Gymnastics Festival was on Tuesday, and we got callbacks!Box was up first, and so was I. We each, (Me, Lola, Charlotte, Alivia, And Aria,) had one warm up, and then, BAM!! I was over, and it was done! I sat down and watched as Alivia, Lola, Charlotte, and Aria Each made it over. Charlotte's score 8.4. So was Lolas. Then there was Aria´s, If I hadn´t already told you, she's a really good gymnast. Her score was 9.4!!! (Out of 10.) Next we had beam. Aria was so good at it. She did her routine flawlessly. Lola and Charlotte forgot the Arabesque, Me and Alivia remembered it and did it pretty well. I forgot our scores for the beam. Last but not least was floor. I was up first, again. I could tell it was way to short, but they still gave me 8.00. That was good enough for me. Aria was the best, and Lola, Charlotte, and Alivia did it well to.
After about 2 or 3 hours we had rhythmical. Alivia was our cheerleader, Even though she forgot to cheer. We did our start, and our end, and all of what was in between. While we did our bow I could hear the crowds cheering. Somehow, we got into callbacks, and it was amazing fun.
Callbacks were on Wednesday night. We had to wait for about 2 hours and 20 minutes. We got to watch all the best gymnasts as a group, and as a solo. We were about the 3rd to last act. The crowds were even bigger than last time, and the cheering was thundurus. the reason the crowd was bigger was because the intermediates and high schools did it to, and most people in every family showed up. It was extremely fun!! bye🥇

Gymnastics Fun
This week me, and the rest of my school have been focusing on gym. The Gisborne Primary schools gymnastics festival is coming up, and we want to be ready. We´ve all chosen the group out of A-Grade, B-Grade and C-Grade. (There's also A reserve but no one is in that group.) We´ve been training for about 2 school weeks now, and we are getting more, and more competitive.
This year I chose to be in A-Grade and Rhythmical. Rhythmical is a sort of gym dance. I started off as a back up, but improved so much, I think, that I´m in the actual dance!! Maybe I was the whole time, Who knows? Well, we´ve learnt most of the dance and a couple of tricks. It's really exciting to be learning so fast in so little time. We've started needing to bring our water bottles to practice. Lola's the ringmaster, and Aria is doing a very cool trick, in the middle of the dance!
This morning I had my first A-Grade practice. When it was just us, Lola, Alivia, Aria, Charlotte and I there, in the hall, Charlotte, Lola and Alivia and I were trying to learn how to do a front handspring, Aria was our instructor. I didn't have much luck, Lola managed some, and Alivia and Charlotte were very close. When our teacher came in to teach us, we practised the beam. I am by far the worst at it, Especially at getting on. Then we practised the box. No one had much luck at first, but we all got there. We did the straddle jump.
Thank you for reading my Blog! Bye.

My Sign/Tribute Art
Recently my class has been working on signs of old Aotearoa history around were we live. Me and my friend Kale´a are in a group on a famous horse and his owner. the name of our sign is Tore te A-Hoiho-John.
We started by painting the base blue. That was our base colour. Then, while I was gone Kale´a had to work on the project alone. She made the grass alone, she thinks that it's to long. I think it's perfect. In the days after that (Mainly Yesterday) we added in the ocean, a GIANT rugby ball, a rugby goal that's smaller than the ball, the clouds and sun, a title, and last but certainly not least, The horse himself. We've only done the out line.
The only reason were not finished is because, Kale´a started to draw the horses leg, but I pointed out it was to long. Me and Kale´a burst into hysterical giggles. We went outside to paint over it, but had to do it 3 times for it not to show. Only because Kale´a did it in vivid. When it was finally gone Kale´a painted the Ocean while I did white wash. Then I drew the Rugby ball and we painted it. The post was simple so I just did 3 lines, and the clouds are done too. Me and Kale´a also found the perfect orangey-beige colour for the sun.
I Just painted the horse a pale beige with a blue mane and black saddle. The teacher told us we have to make it paler, the beige, though.
Thank you for reading about my week, Charlotte.

Our Adventure
¨Yay! Where finally starting!¨ everyone was Saying. Pad, pad, went our shoes as we gently strolled up the first case of stairs. Me and Esther started chatting about the last hike we went on. We began nearing the top, or so we thought. We were coming up to the statues of light. All of the year 6s were confused though, when we only stopped there to look at it. We soon carried on. Suddenly, there were all theese twists and turns! Where no stairs could go. I slowly turned my head, to look at the view. It was magnificent. soon enough there were these odd down hills, then we went back up, and down and up And down. That was until we reached the top. The look-out. Personally, I don't call it the top. We got a drink, and started down.
Me and Esther chatted a lot on the way down. A couple of times we had to run to catch up. then it was hard to slow down. ¨There are so many ferns.¨ I said. She agreed then quite soon, when we were almost down someone spotted a native, and rare Owl. A More-pork. ¨I've Never seen one of theese before.¨ I said. ¨It's pretty.¨ said Esther. Soon enough we reached the bottom and had some morning tea.
On the way back up we had a look in the hole in a rock. It was really dumpy around there. When we started backup most people's legs got very achy as it was very steep. We, sadly, didn't see the More-pork on the way back up and it felt like it would take us forever. We did see a lot of Fantails though.
We were going back down the steps and everyone was relieved that we were getting back to the cars. As the view got Bigger Cornelia yelled out ¨ I can see the rice sheep Again!!!¨ We finally reached the cars again. That's where we got a drink again. Happy to be finished the walk we headed back to school.
